JR CHESS

Report A Bug FullScreen

Game Description: Jr Chess is a simplified version of the classic strategy board game, Chess. Designed for younger players or those new to the game, Jr Chess is a fun and educational experience that teaches essential strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

How to Play:

  1. The game is played on a standard 8x8 grid, with each player starting with 12 pieces: one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns.
  2. The objective is to capture your opponent’s king, while protecting your own.
  3. Pieces move according to their unique abilities:
    • Pawns can move forward one or two squares on their first move, then one square at a time.
    • Knights move in an L-shape (two squares in one direction, then one square to the side).
    • Bishops move diagonally.
    • Rooks move horizontally or vertically.
    • Queens can move in any direction (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally).
    • Kings can move one square in any direction, but cannot move into check.
  4. Special moves include:
    • Castling: The king can move three squares towards a rook, and the rook moves to the square the king crossed. This is the only move that allows the king to move more than one square.
    • En passant: If a pawn moves two squares forward from its starting position, an opponent’s pawn can capture it as if it had only moved one square.
  5. Check and Checkmate:
    • Check occurs when a player’s king is under attack, but not in checkmate.
    • Checkmate occurs when a player’s king is in check and there is no way to remove the check.
